# `GSPath insertNodeWithPathTime:`

*Instance Method*

Inserts an on-curve node at a path time while preserving the path shape.

## Declaration

func insertNode(atPathTime pathTime: CGFloat) -> GSNode?
```

- (GSNode *) insertNodeWithPathTime:(CGFloat) pathTime;
```

insertNodeWithPathTime_(pathTime: float) -> GSNode
```

## Return Value

The inserted node, the existing node at a segment boundary, or `nil` when the operation is unsupported.

## Discussion

The integer part of the path time identifies the ending on-curve node of a segment. The fractional part identifies a position within the segment.
