# `GSFont completionsForName:forPartialWordRange:`

*Instance Method*

Returns glyph-name completions for the partial name around a range.

## Declaration

```swift
func completions(forName partialName: String, partialWordRange charRange: NSRange) -> [String]?
```

- (NSArray<NSString *> *) completionsForName:(NSString *) partialName forPartialWordRange:(NSRange) charRange;
```

```python
completionsForName_forPartialWordRange_(partialName: str, charRange: NSRange) -> list[str]
```

## Parameters

- `partialName` — The text containing the partial glyph name.
- `charRange` — The current selection in the text.

## Discussion

Completions include local and imported glyphs and are ordered by category, name length, and name. Returns `nil` when the range does not identify part of a glyph name.
